Join us for an atmospheric evening exploring obsidian — one of the most mysterious, reflective and often misunderstood materials of the mineral world.

Born from volcanic fire, obsidian forms when molten lava cools with such speed that crystals have no opportunity to develop, creating a naturally occurring volcanic glass. Traditionally regarded as both a protector and truth-teller, its dark, reflective surface acts as a symbolic mirror, encouraging us to look beneath the surface, recognise blockages and patterns, and bring what has been hidden into the light.

As we move towards the darker months, when traditionally the veil between the seen and unseen is said to grow thinner, we will explore obsidian’s relationship with fire and shadow, protection and grounding, reflection and inner light. We will also discover how it can support intuitive development, inner seeing and inner knowing, while touching upon its historic connection with mirrors and scrying.

The evening will include guided meditation and a gently facilitated journey with obsidian, giving you an opportunity to experience its qualities for yourself and explore your own intuitive awareness and personal insight.

We will also look at how to choose, cleanse, care for and work consciously with obsidian, understanding why the intensity of this remarkable material should not be underestimated.

An evening of mystery, reflection, intuition and transformation — exploring the remarkable qualities of one of the crystal and mineral kingdom’s most enigmatic creations.
