We are very pleased to be able to present the Art of Stuart Hill to our customers here at The Atlantis Bookshop for most of the month of May – a really splendid way to celebrate Beltane.
Stuart has been a self-confessed “maker of things” for most of his life. He is a published and prize-winning author and has been an artist for as long as he’s been able to hold things in his hand that would leave a mark on paper. These days he mainly works on gesso-primed wood but has made the occasional journey into the realms of canvas. He describes his pictures as tending towards the bright end of the spectrum, (though not exclusively so) and their subject matter is drawn from the mythology of many cultures, as well as from the natural world and from the darkness that can be found in the original versions of so-called fairy tales.
For further information on Stuart and to see more of his artwork, please see his profile on the Leicester Society of Artists website.
We look forward to welcoming many of you to the Shop in May to see Stuart’s art, which will also be available for sale.
