Paul Wood has nearly two decades of experience teaching Esoteric Herbalism. His passion for the spiritual and magical qualities of plants led him to an interest in alchemy. After many experiments in alchemical processes, distillation, and even building an athanor in his garden, Paul wants to introduce people to the beauty of Spagyrics.
During this workshop participants will learn the basic theory of plant alchemy. Everyone will help in making a ‘Spagyric Tincture’ and will take some home for personal use.

Alchemical plant tinctures are a powerful ingredient for herb magic, and the ability to make them in your own kitchen can be invaluable. Plant tinctures are also a tool for spiritual development, and making alchemical products is a spiritual process which benefits the practitioner in itself.
Alchemical processes are seen as an ‘advanced technique’, although this workshop serves as a great introduction to making herbal products for a beginner. Whilst experienced herbalists will enjoy a new way of thinking about their herbalism and a new technique to use in their own practices. Everyone will help in making a ‘Spagyric Tincture’ and will take some home for personal use.
What is covered during this Herbal Workshop?
This day is dedicated to Plant Alchemy. We will begin by introducing the underlying ideas and principles of alchemy, so that you understand the theory behind the day. Your will then spend your day making a herbal tincture as a group, taking some home at the end of the day.
As you progress through each stage of the tincture, we will look at alchemical imagery and undergo spiritual processes and meditations to be in-tune with the tincture we are creating.

Who is Paul Wood?
Paul Wood is a sticks and stones type of witch. A lifelong student of the Craft and the Mysteries, he has been teaching ‘Western Esoteric Herbalism’ for over 15 years. During this time he has extensively researched the historical use of plants and herbs in magic, and owned a company dedicated to recreating and selling historic and ancient occult recipes.
He is first and foremost a Witch, though has collected a number of labels over the years; A Wiccan High Priest, an initiate of ceremonial traditions, and a traditional witch amongst them. In the mundane worlds, Paul has a background in integrative psychotherapy, psychology and clinical hypnosis.
